“Vicki Ling is an emerging artist who specialises in pencil drawings. She has a strong eye for detail and a unique ability to convey emotion through her fictional imagery. Often working with graphite (pencil), Vicki feels the simplicity and homochromy of this medium expresses her vision of using minimalism to highlight certain elements. In the project 'Sojourn', Vicki aimed to depict a sense of temporality and flux. By playing with perspective, the fictional landscapes and constructions shift between two and three dimensions creating a sense of movement and evolving forms. In the exhibition space, Vicki also displayed the raw material graphite alongside her drawings and provided the sounds made by her pencil as an audio installation.” © All Images
