“I have always been drawn to the complexity of vacant spaces, whether it be a corporate foyer, an empty film set, or an everyday living room. When left unoccupied these spaces, void of inhabitants, become personified; this is something I capture in my photographs. I like to let a space assert its character.
I’m fascinated with deliberately perverting reality in a world where the camera’s ability to reveal truth is always a new conversation. Using empty spaces as my backdrop, I focus on the seemingly unreal fragments within everyday locations. Omitting the human form entirely from my work, fantastical worlds can come to the foreground in that absence, focusing only on the traces left behind. Often a residual smirk of deflated magic is left in the wake of these passing worlds.”
