COMMON NAME is a New York-based graphic design studio, focusing on print, interactive, identity, and exhibition work for the arts and cultural sector.
The studio is run by Yoonjai Choi and Ken Meier. Prior to co-founding the studio, Yoonjai held an art director position at New York design studio 2×4 for 5 years, where she worked with a variety of clients including LACMA, Prada, OMA, Bernard Tschumi, MoMA PS1, Rafael Moneo, and Barneys New York.
KEN MEIER also is a graphic designer and worked with international design consultancy IDEO and New York’s Project Projects, prior to co-founding the studio. His work has been published in Graphic, Creative Review, Computer Arts, and idN magazines, as well as in annuals from Print and the Type Directors Club.
