ARCADEMI addresses young artists and designers from several disciplines: from painting, photography and sculpture to fashion, interior, jewelry and product design. People who are passionate about young art and design can thus not only purchase unique contemporary artworks and designobjects but also get insight in the creatives’ work and vita. ARCADEMI offers the platform where new talents of tomorrow can be discovered and advanced.
Leaving a mark at ARCADEMI means capturing the world of art and design.

ARCADEMI Art
ARCADEMI thinks of itself a the connecting link between young artists and galleries and thus as an entrance card to the art market. In our online gallery, artists from all disciplines have the opportunity to actively draw the attention to their works, or to present themselves to a large audience within the framework of the "Galleries Choice" program. Selected Galleries can present their artists and at the same time discover and contact new talents. ARCADEMI sees itself as a partner for galleries and artists and represents the missing link between up-and-coming talents and collectors, art lovers, galleries and companies.

ARCADEMI Design
ARCADEMI promotes the self-marketing activities of small producers and students from all design disciplines. We showcase unique, original objects with a soul reflecting currants in contemporary design. We thereby give young designers the chance to present themselves among like-minded people and equally talented designers and to sell their objects.

You have two possibilities to find an item you fancy at ARCADEMI: Either you browse through the ART Gallery or the DESIGN Showroom and their respective categories, or you type a keyword in the search field on top of the page. You will be swiftly directed to a matching result.

Open to all visitors
Every visitor of the website can basically browse through all pages, i.e. the sales rooms, the profiles and portfolios etc. without being registered with ARCADEMI.

For registered artists, designers and labels only
Additionally, if you are an artist, designer or label, you might be interested in selling your works on the ARCADEMI platform. In addition to being registered you will need to submit an application to ARCADEMI (please see “How can I submit my application to ARCADEMI?” for further information). Simply choose a user name, enter a valid e-Mail address, pick a safe password, enter the required data and accept the Generals Terms of Use. You will receive a confirmation e-Mail to the given address, including a link leading you to an e-Mail verification page. Following this link will complete registration.

Please note: Choose your user name carefully as it cannot be changed anymore. The user name is important in particular if you are an artist, designer or label as you might sell your works and present yourself under this name within ARCADEMI.

Please check the spam folder in your e-Mail account. E-Mails from unknown senders often get stuck there. If the confirmation message is not there either, then please contact us by using the contact form at the ARCADEMI website and we will be happy to help.

Young artists, designers and labels that have been selected (by invitation or by application) can present and sell their artworks and designobjects at ARCADEMI.

If you are an artist, designer or label and want to become part of ARCADEMI, you need to live up to the platform’s high quality standards. In order to be selected, candidate artists, designers or labels need to submit an online application consisting of a small collection of their works and information about their vita. The selective concept of the website guarantees an ever high standard of quality of works and objects presented.

The ARCADEMI Board is a group of friends and supporters of the ARCADEMI idea. Experienced professionals in the art and design arena, the members of the Board support ARCADEMI in promoting new generations of emerging creatives.

You can set up an extensive profile as soon as you have submitted your application to ARCADEMI and have been selected. The profile is meant to introduce you as an artist, designer or label to all users of the platform. Please make sure to set up your portfolio adequately and to provide detailed information on your vita and your work.

Once you have created your personal profile you can get in touch with other ARCADEMI members. You can receive and send messages, leave messages at your colleagues’ guest books or ask questions on specific items. If you are not a registered artist, designer or label, you can still publicly submit questions on specific items .

You can include interesting profiles or artworks and designobjects that you particularly fancy in your personal watch list. Simply click the button „Watch this profile“ or „Watch this item“ and you will find the selected profiles and items in „My Account“ under section „Profile watch list“ and „Items watch list“. This feature is only available for registered users.

Simply click the link „Forgot password“ on the Login page and ARCADEMI will send you a new password to the e-Mail address associated with your registration.

Unfortunately you cannot change your user name once you have registered with ARCADEMI. Hence, carefully choose your user name.

Once you have created your „Profile“ and your „Portfolio“ and entered your „Personal Data“ and „Seller Data“ in „My Account“, you can offer any artwork and designobject from your portfolio for sale on the ARACDEMI marketplace.

If you wish to modify data of an already entered artwork and designobject you need to go to „My Account“, section „Sell/Current Sales“ where you can revise the data set.

At ARCADEMI, legally binding agreements on the offered goods may be closed. § 10 of ARCADEMI's General Terms of Use states the conditions under which a contract is set up between buyer and seller. A seller placing an item at ARCADEMI submits a binding offer on this item. If you purchase the item by using the "Buy"-button you thereby accept the offer.
If a contract of sale is closed via ARCADEMI you are in principle bound to take the item you purchased and to pay for it according to § 433 paragraph 2 of the Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch (BGB), even if you have changed your opinion on the item or if the price for the item appears to be too high in hindsight.
When purchasing an item from a commercial seller, you usually have the possibility to cancel the contract based on your right to withdraw the contract and to return goods.

Upon conslusion of the sales contract, the seller is obliged to deliver the goods without material defects or defetcs of title according to § 433 Abs. 1 BGB.
In case the seller does not deliver the goods, please try to contact him/her and to solve the problem. If the seller does not reply to your queries, or delays dispatch of the goods without comprehensible reason, you can set a deadline for him to deliver the item.

Setting the deadline can be done by e-Mail. It is however advisable to send the letter e.g. by registered letter with return receipt to the seller so you can prove fixing of the deadline.
If the seller does not deliver within the given deadline, you can withdraw from the contract. You should explain the reasons for the withdrawal clearly and precisely to the seller. In order to prove this, it is advisable to do so in writing and to send the withdrawal notice e.g. by by registered letter with return receipt to the seller. It is also advisable to ask the seller to return the sales price at the same time, if you have already paid it.
You can possibly claim compensation if e.g. you were forced to buy a replacement item due to the seller not delivering.
You also have the possibility to sue the seller in order to make him deliver the goods. Please seek advice from a lawyer or a Citizen's Advice Bureau.

Upon conslusion of the sales contract, the buyer is obliged to pay the goods according to § 433 Abs. 2 BGB.
In case the buyer does not pay, please try to contact him/her and to solve the problem. If the buyer does not reply to your queries, or delays payment of the goods without comprehensible reason, you can set an appropriate deadline for him to pay the item (e.g. one week).

Setting the deadline can be done by e-Mail. It is however advisable to send the letter e.g. by registered letter with return receipt to the seller so you can prove fixing of the deadline.
If the buyer does not pay within the given deadline, you can withdraw from the contract. You should explain the reasons for the withdrawal clearly and precisely to the buyer. In order to prove this, it is advisable to do so in writing and to send the withdrawal notice e.g. by registered letter with return receipt to the buyer. If you wish to adhere to the contract you have the possibility to insist on payment of the sales price and to sue the buyer if need be.

Setting up a profile is free for artists, designers and labels who have been admitted to ARCADEMI. Once you have sold your work ARCADEMI will receive a 20% commission on the sales price (excl. shipment cost). Presenting an object in the ART Gallery or the DESIGN Showroom is free of charge.

Generally speaking, as a seller, you need to be aware of your legal obligations to show VAT or not. Please check applicable national VAT regulations.

As a seller, you always need to declare VAT on any prices for artworks and designobjects on sale.
Unless there are national exceptions for small businesses or if there is no national VAT.

At ARCADEMI, you therefore need to state the prices including VAT where and if applicable.

Generally speaking, every object offered at ARCADEMI can be purchased by using bank transfer as a classical payment method. However, considering the fact that buyers and sellers expect trade transactions with high quality, exclusive and unique objects to be handled swiftly, smoothly and safely, it is important to ARCADEMI to offer payment methods which are designed to make the buying experiences enjoyable.
